I see you.
I see you mama. Wiping tears. Giving praise. Noticing when your babes need some extra love or reassurance. I see you mama - thinking ahead - to snacks, and dinners… to clothes you need to buy… to notes to send to the daycare or school. I see you mama… folding laundry, packing lunches, tidying toys. I see you mama… Getting your babes to bed, soothing their worries, loving them through sickness even though you are exhausted. I see you mama… Digging deep during those hard moments. Taking a breath, calming yourself down so your babes can find peace. I see you mama… doing your invisible work. Work that makes others feel loved, and safe, and secure. Work that keeps your family nourished, balanced, and taken care of. I see you mama… Giving up of yourself - probably too much - to make sure that others’ feel okay. I know you feel mad about it sometimes - resentful, sad, frustrated. These feelings might explode out of you sometimes - in anger, or tears. I feel it too: The unfairness of it all. And maybe tomorrow, we can fight: For a fairer role, a better division of labour, a world where we treat each other better. But today - I want you to know that I appreciate you. I know your are doing your quiet work, I know that it matters, and that your babes will be better for it. Take a breath. Even if others don't... can't... Know that I see you. #riseandshinesleep #motherhood #momsofinstagram #momlife #parenting #strength #love #compassion #resentment #care #family #parenthood #gratitude #strongandkind #kathleenhilchey #invisiblework #feminism #themotherload
